Usmagazine.com reported Sunday that the pair got engaged Thursday, a week after Simpson ex Nick Lachey got engaged to Vanessa Minnillo.
The pop star, now sporting a ruby, diamond and gold engagement ring from jeweler to the stars Neil Lane, and her fiancé will travel to New York for the Thanksgiving holiday, where she is scheduled to perform during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. Her future husband and his family will join her, the magazine reports.
In addition to Mayer, who upset Simpson by referring her to as "sexual napalm" in an interview long after the couple split, she has also dated Dallas Cowboy Tony Romo since divorcing Lachey in 2005. The former couple were married for three years and starred in the MTV reality show "Newlyweds" for four seasons.
