A number of regions in central Singapore hit by floods because of heavy rain, Wednesday (16 / 6) morning. Heavy rain which flushed Orchard Road and Rochor caused a puddle of water as high as half a meter.
National Environment Agency (NEA) of Singapore said, almost 100 mm of rain fell in two hours, at around 09:00 to 11:00 local time. "The amount of rainfall of more than 60% of average monthly rainfall for June," said the NEA.
As a result of the disaster, traffic intersection of Orchard Road and Scotts Road was paralyzed for about an hour. Other regions in the center of the flood affected Singapore and experience the traffic constraint is Coronation Road West, Fourth Avenue, Kings Road, Kheam Hock Road, Veerasamy Road.
Meanwhile, the National Water Company (PUB) advises the public to be careful, because the possibility of flash floods occurred again. Now the cause of flooding is still under investigation authorities. (Straitstimes / Yus)
